Link of the Day: Final Fantasy Vault - IGN
One of the internet’s most popular gaming and media websites, IGN.com, also has a section completely devoted to the game of FFXI. Complete with Databases on everything from mobs and jobs to crafting and maps. Of course, being IGN, the FF Vault also has an active forum community dedicated completely to FFXI. There’s also a Fan Art section and a Comics section, which is all user submitted. The media provided by the site includes movies, fan fics, and wallpapers. If you need to check up on something before taking on the world of FFXI, take a look at this reliable site.
Link of the Day: Killing Ifrit
Killing Ifrit may very well be one of the nicest looking sites I’ve seen when it comes to FFXI resources. It sports a nice forum community that’s active and always moving. KI’s mission pages are put together nicely and are easy to navigate. Apart from missions, they also have comprehensive guides to Dynamis, Assult, and Salvage. KI also has a complete list of maps and all the spells and even skillchain and damage calculators. It also has a complete bestiary. Apart from all this information, KI even has tons of user posted videos, screenshots, and guides. If you need to quickly find out where to go on a mission, or need quick info on any monster, give Killing Ifrit a quick hit.
Link of the Day: Somepage
Somepage’s FFXI page is a wonderful resource of information. It has a full search function, an extensive list of quests, sorted by nation, name, start zone, and even type of fame gained. Apart from these other features, it has a huge guide on cooking. A complete overview of food to a list of each food, divided by the types of status it inflicts. Somepage is definitely a must-have when it comes to needing information on food and cooking.
Link of the Day: Allakhazam
Allakhazam is a marvelous go-to site for any MMO needs. Its FFXI section is second to none in quality and provides a lot of information like a listing of all the equipment in the game and a complete list of every area. It even has a list of Linkshells from every server that are user added. It should be noted that there was previous controversy against their affiliation with RMT, and some choose not to visit it. I’m not sure if they’re still involved with RMT-related websites, but it’s your choice on whether to support the site or not. Either way, if you’re in a last minute need to brush up on your FFXI lore, or any other popular MMO for that matter, be sure to check out Allakhazam.
